We are excited to share with you several great testimonies of God’s touch upon marriages and families which have been reported from our last few meetings. So many women tell Cheri how they can relate to her story of Rebecca, often sharing how her insight gave them a new strength for believing for an unsaved husband or wayward child. One woman wrote that as Cheri shared the testimony of our experience with our granddaughter’s death, she was healed from the grief she was holding onto over the death of her own baby daughter. She said she had suffered for years before God touched her through the ministry of our seminar. That healing within her own life touched her husband, marriage and family as she reported that she is now open to receiving the love of her husband and freely expressing love to her children. Another couple (who married each other after going through bitter divorces with their former mates) attended our seminar as a last resort - hoping to find out how to make their present marriage work. They relayed to us that our teaching on Keeping Love Alive made them realize the changes they needed to make within their relationship. They’ve been implementing the activities outlined in our Marriage Building Blocks workbook and are well on their way to a successful marriage, doing it God’s way this time! One couple reported how they were changed forever through our communication teaching. They said that for the first time they are really understanding each other and responding in a godly manner! A couple who attended a seminar in which we taught on temperaments reported to us that they thought their relationship was beyond hope until they heard our teaching. Because of their new understanding of their differences as part of God’s plan, they began to work on appreciating each other for their strengths. They say it’s made a total turn-around in their relationship. They’ve been working on the worksheets we assigned and say that they are getting along 200% better than ever before. As we shared on Hebrews 3 and Dwelling in Understanding, we could see one couple jabbing each other in the ribs. After the seminar, they talked to us about how they had felt their prayers were not being answered. They said that what we shared about sacrifice and covenant was what really hit home with them. They promised to take what they had learned and make it work in their marriage. They’ve reported back that they have been praying together on a regular basis and are experiencing the blessings they felt were missing in their home. A precious senior couple who attended a seminar “just because their pastor made them go” told us that they settled for a mediocre relationship, just tolerating each other, but not really happy in their relationship. They said, “Thanks to what we heard and saw in your lives at the Marriage Building Blocks seminar, (we especially appreciated the Intimacy session) our marriage had become better than we ever though it could be. We can’t thank our pastor enough for making us attend!” Now their goal is to get their adult married children into one of our seminars. They don’t want their kids to wait until they have been married 40+ years before they find fulfillment in their relationships.
